Semra Kılıç Sarı, LL.M.

Semra Sarı, LL.M. commenced her legal career in 1987 and, in 1990, co-founded Sarı & Kılıç Law Firm together with Hüseyin Sarı. As a Founding Partner, she continues to provide litigation and legal advisory services to the firm's clients.

Having completed her LL.M. in Capital Markets Law at the Department of Private Law of Istanbul University, Semra Sarı has, since the establishment of the firm, provided legal advisory and litigation services to Türkiye's leading banks and financial institutions, as well as to domestic and international companies.

With extensive experience in banking and finance, particularly in debt recovery and receivables management, Semra Sarı was among the first practitioners in Türkiye to develop and implement the external legal counsel model for banks' debt recovery operations, contributing significantly to the establishment of this practice within the Turkish banking sector.

With more than 35 years of professional experience, her practice focuses on banking and finance law, corporate and commercial law, enforcement and bankruptcy law, and dispute resolution. She regularly advises and represents banks, financial institutions, and corporate clients in commercial disputes, debt recovery proceedings, enforcement actions, and complex litigation before the Turkish courts.

In addition to her litigation practice, Semra Sarı provides ongoing legal counsel to domestic and international clients on their day-to-day business operations. She has extensive experience in the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of commercial agreements and plays an active role in contract negotiations involving both domestic and cross-border transactions. Her advisory work includes the legal structuring of commercial relationships, identifying and mitigating legal risks, and negotiating financing, lending, security, supply, service, distribution, confidentiality, and other commercial arrangements.

Semra Sarı represents clients before the courts of first instance, the regional appellate courts, and the Court of Cassation. She is particularly recognised for her extensive experience in resolving complex commercial disputes involving banks, financial institutions, and corporate clients, and for providing commercially focused, strategic legal advice on sophisticated transactions and high-value business relationships.
